Hadrianus (117-138 AD). AR Denarius (19 mm, 3.32 g), Rome, c. 130-133. Obv. HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, Bare-headed and draped bust to right, seen from behind. Rev. AFRICA, Africa, wearing
elephant-skin headdress, reclining left against rock, holding scorpion
in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left; at her feet, modius with
grain ears. BMC 814; RIC II.3 1500; Strack 297.
Light iridiscent tone and good extremely fine.
